The Alderney Biodiversity Centre provides biological data to scientists, interested members of the public, and those with commercial interests, for instance looking to complete Environmental Impact Assessments.

 

Public and charitable data requests

Some data are available to logged in users to browse and download without making a formal data request. The long-term ambition of the Alderney Biodiversity Centre is to have as much data within this category as possible, but this is an ongoing process, and currently the majority of data we hold are not publicly accessible.

Other data can be requested, with initial requests free of charge.

In the case of complex data requests that require substantial staff time to fulfil, including those asking for data analysis as part of the request, the Alderney Biodiversity Centre may ask for a contribution to staff costs to be agreed in advance. In the vast majority of cases, we will fulfill any non-commercial data requests for free. Commercial data requests

Initial advice on information held by Alderney Biodiversity Centre is provided free of charge. A charge will be made to cover staff time to fulfill requests for the extraction, analysis or collation of records if these are to be used for commercial purposes. in this case our fees per data search are:

  1. £100 per data search for each site.
  2. £25 nominal fee where the data search returns no records for the site in question.
  3. £50 discretionary charge (50% reduction on the standard £100 fee) per data search may be applied for community groups and other organisations who do not qualify as charities. Please contact manager(at)alderneybiodiversitycentre.org for further information.
  4. Other fees may apply for other surveys which can be quoted for on first contact.
